Approach

VantagePoint operates on a number of key principles and we want to partner with entrepreneurs who share these values in building world-scale companies.

We pursue big ideas. And we invest in companies that can transform global markets through the power of their ideas. We have the financial resources and intellectual capital to tackle dynamic projects and the commitment to see them through. We often invest as the sole partner with portfolio company management and have the capacity to invest in excess of $100 million in support of a single company. Most often, we are a lead investor, with typical pre-IPO funding in the $15-50 million range.

We are creative thinkers. We don't go by the book. In fact, we don't have a book. We understand that companies with great promise often have to address unusual challenges or quickly act on new opportunities to realize their full potential. To build successful companies to scale requires creative capital — moving beyond the funding to accelerate strategic growth. The depth of our relationships and resources enable us to introduce and help structure key corporate partnering and business development opportunities, use our substantial contact network to identify key hires, lend our in-house legal, transactional, recruiting, financial, and marketing experts during pivotal moments, and drive and fund strategic acquisitions to assist our portfolio companies.

We strive for ambitious results. For us, this can only be achieved when interests are aligned through a collaborative team effort with our portfolio companies. Since we are, first and foremost, interested in companies with the potential to transform their industries and undergo significant growth, we invest across multiple technologies, important geographies and at any stage in a company's development. We are also willing to tackle complex financial, structural or technological issues as is sometimes required. Our goal is to work with highly motivated innovators with a shared vision of leadership in their field.
