Helen brings more than 10 years of experience developing commercialization strategies for New Zealand's largest utility and grid transmission companies. Most recently, she was the Business Expansion Manager at Meridian Energy, New ZealandÕs largest utility, where she developed commercialization strategies and managed corporate venture investments in carbon, biodiesel, solar and energy storage technology companies. She also served as a consultant to Building Research and Forest Research, two of New ZealandÕs largest research organizations. Helen previously held a position as CIO and Manager of IT and Telecommunications Strategy and Architecture at Transpower, the owner and operator or New ZealandÕs transmission grid. She also managed the strategic analysis team and was responsible for assessing the impact of market deregulation and alternative renewable energy systems on the grid. Helen is a member of the Board of the New Zealand Green Building Council, and Advisory Board of the New Zealand Foundation for Research, Science and Technology. She received a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
